Two giants come together to make the
2012 London Olympics even bigger. PlayUp, the world's first social network for
sport, and Worldwide Olympics Partner, Samsung, have announced the launch of
the ‘PlayUp Olympics 2012 Special’ app.
The app will relay real-time game
updates on over 300 events spread across 36 sports disciplines and will also
bring in a comprehensive stat centre which will cover information on over
10,000 athletes representing over 200 nations. Available for free on Samsung
smartphones running the Android mobile OS, the ‘PlayUp Olympics 2012 Special’
app will enable users to follow any Olympic event live and the ability for fans
to start discussions with other fans around each fixture, team or athlete and
enjoy the biggest sporting spectacle in the world on a single platform.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajat
Kulshrestha, CEO, PlayUp India, said, “We all understand the
significance of the Olympics in bringing together different peoples to battle
for the glory of their nations and to uphold the spirit of sport. At PlayUp we
create a connect between sport and its true admirers - the fans. The ‘PlayUp
Olympics 2012 Special’ is our attempt at providing the fans with a common
platform to absorb and interact over their favourite sports. This will create a
never-seen-before hive of activity around the Games."
"The London Olympics are going to
be the biggest, most grand Olympics ever and, with Samsung, we are proud to be
the technology that will take the spirit of the games to those who best
appreciate it and allow fans to enjoy sport the way it was meant to be enjoyed.
Together," he added.
