UPDATE: The company just confirmed the presence of a NFC chip along with a fingerprint scanner.

The year is yet to end, and everyone is already gearing up to do their best in the coming year. So are the smartphone manufacturers. Lenovo has confirmed the launch date of its latest offering, the K4 Note, to be the 5th of next month. This will hopefully be the first new device we will get to see in the new year, if no other OEM decides to jump on the bandwagon to join the force. (Do not believe the news you are reading elsewhere regarding the launch of LeTV Max on the same day. Our sources have confirmed that it is just a media preview event. Actual launch is sometime a week later!)

Lenovo K4 Note to launch on January 5th

The company resorted to Twitter to leak details about the device. They are terming it the "Killer Note" of 2016, which is the same term they used for the K3 Note. This confirms our speculation that the new device will be its successor.

The image above confirms the date, time and place of the launch. Also, the device will come with metal edges, as can be seen in the picture.

The smartphone will be armed with 3 GB RAM, as confirmed by the following tweet:
We are also expecting it to sport a fingerprint sensor, as the other three security features enlisted in the following tweet are already part of smartphones, thanks to software technology.
Since the device is a successor, we expect it to have upgrades in the camera and battery modules, while carry on the 4G LTE support and full HD display setup. Whether the chipset will be MediaTek or Qualcomm Snapdragon is something we are curious to know.

We expect the official specifications to be revealed any time soon.

And now we wait!
