Xiaomi has announced the launch of its second Made in India smartphone, the Redmi Note Prime. Note that Redmi 2 Prime was the first device from this Chinese OEM to be made in India.

The smartphone is powered by MIUI 7, which is based on Android 4.4 KitKat.

The device is an enhanced version of Redmi Note 4G (review). It comes with dual SIM slots (supporting 4G), 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal memory (expandable up to 32 GB via micro SD), and 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 64-bit processor. The smartphone boasts of a 5.5-inch HD IPS display.

The device features a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash, and a 5 MP front-facing lens. The smartphone is powered by 3,100 mAh lithium-ion polymer battery.

The device will be available for ₹8,499 ($130 approx.) exclusively on Amazon as well as on the company's website, starting 1000 hours tomorrow.
