10.or G was launched in India around couple of months back. It was preceded by an entry-level device, the 10.or E. For the uninitiated, 10.or is a new online-only smartphone brand entering the market exclusively via Amazon.

10.or G front

The smartphone comes in black and grey color variants (we have the former one). Concerning specifications, the device features a full HD display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 octa-core processor. It comes with a 5.5-inch screen. There are two variants of the device based on the RAM and storage, one with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB internal memory, and the other with 4 and 64 gigs combination. We have the higher variant with us. The storage is expandable up to 128 GB via the microSD card slot. The device runs on Android Nougat 7.1.2 and packs a 4,000 mAh battery.

The smartphone features a display with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. The three standard buttons for Menu, Home, and Back are placed on the screen (same as the E) resulting in the wastage of a lot of space at the bottom bezel. Additionally, there is a 16 MP front-facing camera lens located above the display, to the right of the earpiece grille, which is itself in the center. The LED flash is located to the left of the earpiece. The notification indicator LED, and the ambient light sensor is placed at the right of the sensor.

10.or G rear

10.or G primary cameras

The smartphone's hardware includes Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 octa-core (8x2.2 GHz) processor and dual 13 MP rear cameras with dual tone LED flash located beside the camera lens'. Above the camera lens lies the secondary noise-cancellation microphone. Below the camera is the circular fingerprint sensor, which delivers more misses than hits. Below the fingerprint module is the 10.or branding. The top antenna line is placed in between the microphone and the cameras, and the bottom antenna line is below the branding.

10.or G left and right

The right side of the device features the power key (located on the top) and the volume rocker key (located below it). The hybrid SIM tray is found on the left side of the device. One of the two nano SIM slots is hybrid; only one slot supports 4G LTE at any instance in time.

10.or G bottom and top

The 3.5 mm headset jack is on the top left. The micro USB port is at the bottom center. The speaker grille and the primary microphone are placed on either side. The right grille houses the speaker, while the left one is a decoy for the microphone. The other speaker is located on the top of the phone without any grille.

10.or G features a metal unibody design, i.e., the rear panel is non-removable. The device has rounded corner, while the display is pointed.

Field workers and field technicians face some of the harshest work environments, and so does their equipment. In the world of high stakes field jobs where technology plays a crucial role, why would one trust an 'entertainment' level machine for their work? It's not just wrong but could lead to burnout of equipment on a regular basis.

Panasonic Toughpad FZ-G1

Thankfully, the field workers have never enjoyed so many choices, when it comes to robust devices that do not compromise on performance even in the harshest environments.

One such device is Panasonic Toughpad FZ-G1. Panasonic Toughpad tablets are state of the art computing tablets that are meant to be reliable, durable and rugged. They are specially designed for field applications and are regularly employed in industries such as aviation, construction, field sales and public sector.

The Panasonic Toughpad FZ-G1 is a fully ruggedized and comes with a crisp outdoor display. It is incredibly user-friendly and possesses a 10-finger multi-touch display; it also has a digitizer pen. FZ-G1 runs on Windows 10 Pro with an Intel i5 processor. It's compact yet fully ruggedized design makes it a popular choice for businesses that require a reliable connectivity option for their field staff.
Panasonic Toughpad FZ-G1 performs in the vehicle, in the dark, on a plane, and in extreme heat or rain.

The deciding factor when considering to buy a rugged device is the level of toughness required from the device. In such cases, it makes sense that the tablet is designed to the highest of performance standards set in the industry. Not only does this ensure the highest efficiency in the field but also lowers the cost of ownership. That is where the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-G1 out-shines the competition.

From defense to healthcare, and hospitality to leisure, the Panasonic Toughpad series is already integrated into operations across the industries. Not only does it meet the expectations of the specialists looking to boost their productivity but also exceeds them on various parameters.

Having said all of the above, the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-G1 is not meant for everyone. The life's purpose of this device is to be treated harshly in the worst possible environment. A state-of-the-art computing platform that is built for today’s mobile users should not be operated from the comfort of one's home or office. There are already plenty of Windows tablets, many of them more compact, lighter, and cheaper, that can be used for ordinary use. But the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-G1 tablet does what those devices cannot do.

Lenovo backed Motorola has finally launched their flagship for the current year, the Motorola Moto Z2 Force. It was preceded by the mid-range smartphone Moto Z2 Play and the budget-friendly Moto G5 and G5 Plus devices earlier in the year.

Motorola Moto Z2 Force

The modular approach seen in the Z2 Play is maintained, meaning you can use all the Moto Mods you already own. Few interesting use cases include enhanced audio performance, larger battery, or improved camera capabilities. A new 360-degree rotatable camera mod is also launched, just like the one seen on the Essential Phone.

Regarding specifications, the Motorola Moto Z2 Force runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, 4 GB of RAM, and features a dual-lens camera setup (f/2.0 12 MP each) at the rear. Just like the Huawei P10, one is a monochrome sensor, while the other is color. The 5.5-inch Quad HD AMOLED screen (2560 x 1440 pixels) comes with a protective ShatterShield technology.

The frame is sturdier, thanks to the 7000 series aluminum. The device runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. It is not waterproof. The battery is reduced to 2,730 mAh (from 3,500 mAh in the first generation device). 64 GB internal storage is expandable up to 2 TB via the microSD card. USB Type-C port replaces the 3.5 mm headphone jack. The fingerprint sensor supports gestures.

Motorola Moto Z2 Force goes on sale on 10th of next month. Preorders in the US are open for $30 a month for two years ($720 total). The smartphone comes in gold, black, and gray color variants.

After the embarrassing battery overheating-and-exploding fiasco, Samsung had to recall all the Galaxy Note 7 units it had sold. Now, a refurbished version of the device is put back on sale in South Korea.

Refurbished Samsung Galaxy Note 7 goes back on sale as Fan Edition

Termed the Galaxy Note 7 Fan Edition, unused components and unopened, recalled units are used to build the new model. The battery capacity is reduced to 3,200 mAh (from 3,500 mAh). It has also been put through the eight-point test to ensure safety.

If you liked what Samsung had to offer via Bixby, their in-house smart assistant, you might turn out to be a 'fan' of the Galaxy Note 7 Fan Edition.

The rest of the specifications are kept as they were - a 5.7-inch Quad HD display (2560x1440 pixels), 4 GB RAM, 64 GB internal memory, and 12 MP primary camera along with 5 MP secondary lens setup. Iris scanning and S Pen are also retained.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 with Fan Edition imprint at the rear

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Fan Edition is priced at 699,600 ($610 approx.), which is around 30% less than the original model's launch price.  Only 400,000 units will be produced. The smartphone comes in black, blue, gold, and silver color options.

The device goes on sale in South Korea on July 7. The company has decided not to launch it in the United States and India, while a call for other markets will be taken at a later date. This could be because the iterative upgrade to the Note lineup, the Galaxy Note 8, is expected to launch by the end of September this year.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Fan Edition specifications

The next in line for Samsung's most premium Note phones is the much awaited Samsung Galaxy Note 8 which is set to release towards the end of September.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8

According to the latest reports from VentureBeat, the Note 8 might be their priciest phone yet at around €1,000 ($1,119/₹72,000 approx.).

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is said to come with a 6.3-inch AMOLED edge-to-edge infinity display, slightly bigger than its Galaxy S8 Plus counterpart making the split-screen operation much easier to use. It will also feature the same aspect ratio of 18.5:9.

The Note 8 will be the South Korean tech firm's first smartphone with a dual camera at the back. It is said to feature two 12-megapixel sensors with independent Optical Image Stabilization for each lens!

It will continue to utilize the same Exynos 8895 or the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipsets - depending on the market, the same ones as the S8 and S8+. Although, this time, the Note 8 will come with a hefty 6 GB of RAM, making it only the second phone from Samsung to feature this much amount of RAM after the Galaxy C9 Pro.

It will sport a small 3,300 mAh battery as opposed to last year's 3,500 mAh battery, most likely to avoid any repeat of the Note 7 battery exploding fiasco. Since then, Samsung has slowly been recovering its reputation and reassuring their users that their phones are safe by implementing an eight-point battery test!

As always, the Note 8 will come with an all-improved S-pen stylus which is said to come packed with more features than its siblings. It can also pin handwritten notes onto the Always-on display.

Also, the Samsung DeX support is said to be included as well which brings desktop-like appearance to the phone! The Note 8 is said to come in shades of blue, black, and gold.

Now that the OnePlus 5 has been launched let us have a look at how it stands out compared to its predecessor, the OnePlus 3T. To upgrade, or not to upgrade? That is the question we will try to answer.

OnePlus 5 vs OnePlus 3T

Camera

Let us start by talking about the all-new dual lens camera of the OnePlus 5, which is the main feature that OnePlus wants all of us to 'focus' on in the device.

The OnePlus 5 features two sensors at the back, namely a 16-megapixel primary lens with a f/1.7 aperture (believed to capture 34% more light than the OnePlus 3T) and a 20-megapixel lens with a f/2.6 aperture which is a telephoto lens used for the higher optical zoom. It also has a dual LED flash whereas the OnePlus 3T comes with only a single LED Flash. In comparison, the OnePlus 3T features a single 16-megapixel camera lens at the rear.

The front camera is a 16-megapixel lens with f/2.0 aperture in both the smartphones.

If you are a specifications guy/girl and love clicking other people or objects from your smartphone, upgrading to the OnePlus 5 is the way to go. However, if you are a selfie-enthusiast, there is no point wasting your hard-earned money to upgrade since the secondary camera lens setup is same on both the smartphones.
