Vivo has today launched a first-of-its-kind smartphone, the XPlay 5 Ultimate Edition, at an event in Beijing. It is unique because it boasts of 6 GB RAM. We bet even your personal computer has lesser. Another lesser-specced device, the XPlay 5, is also launched.
The devices come with a 5.43-inch QHD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels. It is accompanied by 2.5D glass and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
Both the smartphones feature a 16 MP primary camera with LED flash. The secondary camera is a 8 MP shooter. The fingerprint sensor is aptly placed at the rear.
The XPlay 5 Ultimate Edition is equipped with 6 GB LPDDR4 RAM and 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, coupled with Adreno 530 GPU. On the other hand, the XPlay 5 is equipped with 4 GB RAM and octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 chipset. Both the devices come with 128 GB internal memory, and run on FunTouch OS based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The battery capacity is 3,600 mAh, and supports fast charging. Both the devices support dual SIM. Other connectivity options include WiFi, Bluetooth, USB Type-C and NFC.
The 3 GB/32 GB variant is priced at 1,999 Yuan ($305 approx.), while the 3 GB/64 GB variant will be sold for 2,299 Yuan ($350 approx.). The 4 GB/128 GB Mi 5 Pro is priced at 2,699 Yuan ($415 approx.).
