HTC Titan II front
HTC always stands out of the crowd with its impressive smartphones; and guess what, it has done it again. With the announcement of HTC Titan II at the Consumer Electronic Show '12 it has forced an attack onto its rivals.

The Titan II is one of the hottest smartphones to be announced at the CES. Just like any other Windows Phone, the device feels incredibly smooth. The mobile OS used is reliable. The speculations and features are promising. It is a successor to HTC Titan. Even though there is no dual-core processor, the Microsoft platform will make it easier to navigate the UI or to access applications.

Holding onto the Windows Phone Mango smartphonethe first feeling one gets is the numerous similarities between the device and its predecessor. However, HTC Titan II is a little thicker (around 0.01inch) due to the LTE chip.

As expected, the device has a quality design and construction. This is supported by its soft touch coating and metallic casing. Although some people may feel it to be gigantic, its weight is perfect given its size. It feels really nice in one's hand, thus reflecting a solid impression.

The device presents itself with a 4.7-inch Super LCD display, with a WVGA resolution of 480*800. It also features a 1.5GHz single-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. To minimize the load on the single processor available, it is supported by AT&T's 4G LTE connectivity to bring it upto par with its competitors in terms of data connectivity and download and upload speed.

The device boasts of a 16MP auto-focus rear-camera, featuring a dual LED flash, wide angle F2.6 lens aperture (ideal for shooting in low light environments), backlit illuminated sensor and IS (image stabilization). One major drawback is its capacity to shoot videos of up to 720p, where other devices in the market offer an interesting 1080p. This is due to single-core processor. Moreover, it has various shooting modes that allow users to take different shots such as the "burst mode" for taking a bunch of pictures in a row, a panorama mode, a flicker adjustment and others. Candle Light, Backlight Portrait, Night Portrait, Beach and Text are just a few of the shooting modes. There are also white balance, saturation, contrast and sharpness controls. The camera makes good use of the favorable lighting to produce pretty nice shots. There are also quite a few camcorder modes like Vintage Warm, Vintage Cold, Overexposed and Blue Tint. The camera interface is clean and easy to navigate. A 1.3MP front camera is also provided for video chatting.

Battery life is always a concern for LTE phones. One must be satisfied to hear
that the device runs on a 1,730 mAh battery. It is necessary to support the huge display and the power-consuming 4G radio.

Dear Titan user, are you satisfied with the features presented in Titan II, or will you still stick to HTC Titan? So, how many of you are going to grab it as soon as it arrives in stores? Do tell us in the comments below.
