[Smartphone] Xiaomi Mi 4 gets a price cut in India, available for 20K INR

Xiaomi today announced that Mi 4 64 GB is now available for 19,999 INR. Remember that this smartphone was first announced in January 2015 in India. The smartphone is down 4,000 INR from the original launch price of 23,999 INR. Note that the price reduction happened in stages. Firstly, the company announced a permanent price cut for Mi 4 16 GB as well as 64 GB variant by 2,000 INR. In the next step, another 2K INR is waived off from the latter, thus making it available within 20K INR. It can also be purchased for 15K by exchanging an old smartphone.

The reason for this price cut are the lower costs, that have enabled the manufacturer to reduce the price. They hope to sell more units with this new price,and stay in the competitive smartphone market of the country.
