[Tablet] Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 to be lighter and thinner than its predecessor

After the success of Samsung Galaxy Tab S (first impressions) in the last year, the South Korean multinational is expected to launch its successor sometime this month in London. Even though the exact launch date might not be confirmed, the device specifications and possible variants are known. The OEM claimed that the first generation of this device was the thinnest and lightest tablet by them. This time, they have gone a step ahead, since reports claim that the successor might be even more thinner and lighter.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7

There will be two variants - one with a 9.7 inch screen (SM-T810), and the other with a 8-inch screen (SM-T710). It is worth noticing that the screen size has been reduced from 10.5 inch and 8.4 inch respectively.

The device is expected to come with a Super AMOLED display (with a resolution of 2048x1536 pixels, same as that of Apple iPad Air 2). The device will definitely feature both primary and secondary camera lenses, but it is not confirmed whether the resolution is unchanged.

The tablet is said to sport a 64-bit octa-core Samsung Exynos 7420 chipset, which is definitely a major improvement. It is also backed by 3 GB RAM.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0

It is expected to run Android Lollipop. The 9.7 inch variant is expected to weigh 407 g, while the 8 inch variant will weigh 260 g. The thickness will be just 5.4 mm. These are really stunning specifications.

As far as the price is concerned, $399 for the 8-inch variant (WiFi only), $499 for the 9.7 inch variant (WiFi only), $499 for the 8-inch variant (both 4G and WiFi), and $599 for the 9.7 inch variant (both 4G and WiFi).
