[Smartphone] Xiaomi Mi Edge rumored to be China's response to Korea

Samsung's success with curved displays is well known. First the Galaxy S6 Edge (with a single side curved), and then the Galaxy S6 Edge+ (both sides curved) marked the success of the South Korean giant. Now the Chinese OEM Xiaomi wants a piece of this success 'curve'. After successfully claiming a huge share in the entry and mid-level smartphone market, China wants to beat Korea in high-end devices too.

If rumors are to be believed, Xiaomi Mi Edge is expected to sport a dual-edge display, curved on both the sides. It is rumored to be equipped with a 5.2 inch display (with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels). It is also believed to boast of a 16 MP rear camera.

The device is also rumored to feature a fingerprint authentication sensor.

The smartphone is said to sport a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset, backed by 3 or 4 GB RAM. It is a 64-bit processor.

It is expected to run the latest Android Lollipop version 5.1.1, with a layer of MIUI7 on the top. No other specifications are known as of now, but we hope to know more in the days to come. After all, the device may launch in October this year!
