After launching two smartphones in collaboration with Dazen, viz. Coolpad Dazen 1 (review) and Coolpad Dazen X7 (review), Chinese OEM Coolpad has come up with a device of its own. Yes, we are talking about the Coolpad Note 3. In terms of specifications, the device features an IPS display, powered by 1.3 GHz Cortex-A53 MT6753 Mediatek octa-core processor with 3 GB RAM. It comes with 5.5-inch screen. The internal storage is 16 GB, and is expandable up to 64 GB. It runs on Android 5.1 with Coolpad's skin, the Cool UI, and packs 3,000 mAh lithium-ion battery.
The smartphone features an IPS display with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels. It has three capacitive buttons for Menu, Home and Back. All of these buttons are placed just below the display. Additionally, there is a 5 MP front-facing camera lens located above the display to the right of the earpiece, just opposite to the side where buttons are located. The earpiece is located in the center, on the top. To the left of the earpiece is the notification LED and the proximity sensor.
The smartphone's hardware includes 1.3 GHz Mediatek octa-core processor, 3 GB RAM, 16 GB internal memory (expandable up to 64 GB), a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash located to the left of the camera lens. To the right of the lens is the secondary microphone. Below the primary camera is the fingerprint sensor. On the rear, the Coolpad branding is present on the bottom-center. Below the branding label is the speaker grille. The device has a removable back, but a non-removable battery.
The right side of the device features the power key. The device supports dual SIM, which can be inserted by opening the back cover. Kindly note that both the SIMs support 4G LTE. The second SIM slot is actually a hybrid slot, meaning it can either be used for SIM or a micro SD card, but not both.
The 3.5 mm headset jack is at the top left.
The micro USB port is at the bottom center. The primary microphone is present at the bottom left.
The volume rocker key is present on the left side of the device.
With a weight of 170 grams, the device is bit on a heavier side. The USP of the smartphone is the presence of a fingerprint sensor for just ₹8,999 ($140 approx.).
The box contains the smartphone, along with a travel adaptor, a data cable, a user manual, a warranty card, and a pair of earphones. It is being sold via Amazon.
