Xiaomi today announced that Redmi Note 4G is now available for ₹7,999. Remember that this smartphone first went on sale in December 2014 in India. The smartphone is down ₹2,000 from the original launch price of ₹9,999. It can also be purchased for ₹4,999 by exchanging an old smartphone.

The reason for this price cut are the lower costs, that have enabled the manufacturer to reduce the price. They hope to sell more units with this new price, and stay in the competitive smartphone market of the country. Talking about competition, the introduction of Lenovo K3 Note at a price of ₹9,999 has forced this Chinese manufacturer to reduce the price of this device.

It was Xiaomi's very first 4G device to be introduced in India, with support for both 4G bands - FDD-LTE and TDD-LTE. The smartphone received a warm welcome for its fast surfing, streaming and gaming speeds.

The device is available on Flipkart at the new price. But before you plan to lighten your wallet for this device, do check out my detailed review. Although the review is for the 3G variant, there aren't much differences.
