The body of the device is made up of soft rubber. This ensures no physical harm to the user's ear. It also prevents from being pushed too far into the ear.

How it works?

The device is actually an infrared in-ear thermometer. It uses infrared senor to measure the heat generated by the eardrum and the surrounding tissue (or the tympanic membrane). The measured reading is then converted into an audio signal which can be read by the smartphone application. Support for both Android and iOS devices is available.

One can track and monitor the temperatures using the app. One can also enter detailed notes, or track symptoms of diseases. Those records can then be shared with the physician.

At the time of writing, this promising product had already achieved its goal of $10,000.
