[Smartphone] Microsoft Lumia 950 XL announced

At an event today, Microsoft has announced its latest flagship device, the Lumia 950 XL. Another flagship device, the Lumia 950 has also been announced. A budget device, the Lumia 550 has also been announced.

The smartphone runs on 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 2 GHz octa-core processor, and possesses 3 GB RAM.

It runs on Windows 10. All the new features will be available out of the box.

On the imaging front, the smartphone features 20 MP PureView rear camera. It is accompanied with triple LED flash and 5th generation Optical Image Stabilization. The front camera is a 5 MP shooter.


The smartphone sports a 5.7-inch quad HD AMOLED display, with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The pixel density is 518 ppi.

The device comes with 32 GB internal storage, which is expandable up to 200 GB. The battery capacity is 3,340 mAh. It supports Qi wireless charging.

It also features the Windows Hello infrared camera (same as the one found on the Microsoft Surface Pro 4). This enables the user to log in to the device by just looking at the device.

The USB port is USB Type-C.

The device comes in White and Black color options. It is priced at $649.
