The smartphone features an IPS display with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels. It has three capacitive buttons for Menu, Home and Back. All of these buttons are placed just below the display. Additionally, there is a 5 MP front-facing camera lens located above the display, just opposite to the side where buttons are located. On the left of the camera lens is the LED flash.
The smartphone has high-end hardware that includes 1.7 GHz Mediatek octa-core processor coupled with ARM Mali-450 GPU, 2 GB RAM, 8 GB internal flash memory (expandable up to 32 GB), a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash located just beneath the camera lens. The speaker is located on the bottom-left of the rear side, and just above it, in the center, is the Mi branding.
The right side of the device features the power key and the volume rocker key. The 3.5 mm headset jack is at the top left. The micro USB port is at the bottom right in the center. The smartphone supports dual SIM. The microSD card slot and the SIM slots can be found by opening the smartphone from the removable-back.
Coming in at 199g and 9.45mm depth, the phone feels a bit heavy when held for long. But, for sure, it feels outstanding in the hand with its curved edges.
The box contains the smartphone with its display covered, along with a travel adaptor, a battery, a data cable, a user manual and a warranty card. There are no headphones in the box. The printed price on the box is Rs. 9,999. But it is being sold via Flipkart for Rs. 8,999.
