Samsung has launched its latest rugged smartphone, the Galaxy Active Neo in Japan.

The device comes with a 4.5-inch WVGA display with a resolution of 854x480 pixels. The display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It is packed with TouchWiz UI based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS, 2 GB RAM and 1.2 GHz quad-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor.

The smartphone is equipped with 8 MP rear camera with LED flash, and a 2 MP front camera. It is packed with 16 GB internal memory (expandable up to 128 GB), supports 4G LTE, and is backed by 2,200 mAh battery.


The device comes with IP67 certification, which means it is dust and water resistant.


Due to the extra protection, the smartphone is 10.1 mm thick, and weighs 154 grams.

The standard capacitive buttons on other smartphones are replaced by three physical buttons.

The smartphone is available in Camo White and Solid Grey color options, and is priced at JPY 20,000 ($165 approx.). The device is launched specifically for Japanese market, but we expect it to launch in other countries as well.
